Cranemaster launching world’s largest passive heave compensator

on 02 September 2016

We have now extended our fleet of units with the world’s largest PHC. Safe working load (SWL) for the new unit is 1000 T and maximum stroke length is 4000 mm.

The new unit comes with an advanced control system that adapts to the various lifting phases during operations. As a result, optimized performance can be achieved for each stage of the lift. This is particularly useful for deep water operations and splash zone crossing of demanding structures. The ability to give optimal performance allows this unit to complete subsea lifts in higher sea states than a traditional PHC.

“As offshore installations have become more complex and structures heavier, we have responded to the demand for higher capacity by developing the world’s largest PHC” Oddbjørn Bergem, CEO Cranemaster
